There are plenty of enterprise collaboration applications to choose from. Wikis, blogs and forums are all the rage, but are they really better than email? This week on Buzzword Bingo, Jason and Mike talk enterprise collaboration tools with Michael Popovich and Jeremy Laurenson. Michael is a Consulting Systems Engineer with Cisco. Jeremy is a Technology Solutions Architect with Cisco. Together they provide some great insight on the usefulness of enterprise collaboration tools and their impact on end-user productivity.
(Sorry, but I messed up the chapters in this episode. They’ll be back next time. But now, if you subscribe to the video podcast in iTunes, there are chapters in that version.)

Do you carry a mobile phone for work? In this week’s Buzzword Bingo, Jason, Mike and two entertaining and knowledgeable guests from Amsterdam survey the current state of mobile phones for corporate use. Jan-Willem Ruys and Jerry de Boer are both Cisco Consulting Systems Engineers. They have years of enterprise mobility experience and offer some interesting perspectives on device usability and functionality. We compare Google Android, Windows Mobile, iPhone, Nokia and Blackberry phones and cover the Net-Net News, Rants and of course, the Call-To-Action (hint: it involves MC Hammer pants).

Server virtualization is commonplace in the enterprise today. But what about desktop virtualization? What benefit does desktop virtualization bring to the enterprise end-user? Why go through the trouble of virtualizing the desktop when many applications are moving to the browser? On this week’s Buzzword Bingo, we’ll talk to two virtualization experts, Kevin Corbin (Data Center Architect – Cisco) and Michael Williams (Architect – Sisters of Mercy Health System). They join Mike and Jason for a healthy debate on the future of the enterprise desktop.

Thanks to all of you who watched or listened to our first show. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive. A few of you commented on the length of the show and prefer to watch it in smaller consumable chunks. So, we’re changing the video podcast format. We’ll still record an hour show in one sitting, but we’ll distribute the show in three chunks: Main Topic, Hot Topics and Rant/Call-To-Action. The audio podcast will remain one full hour (or so) because it’s easier to multitask with audio podcasts.
I’m still waiting (impatiently) for iTunes audio podcast approval. Video podcast approval is done. When all of the approvals are set you’ll be able to consume the show in the following ways:
Using iTunes allows you to subscribe to the show and iTunes will automatically download the latest version for you. If you have an iPod or iPhone, you can then take Buzzword Bingo on the road with you!
You can leave feedback by commenting on the blog or, if you prefer, send us an email (bwbshow@gmail.com).
We’re recording the next show on Thursday (May 7th) and it should be a great one: Mac vs. Windows in the Enterprise. That will be lots of fun! Stay tuned and thanks again for watching!
I’m pleased to announce our first show! This week we’re talking security with Corey Moomey. Corey is a Security Consulting Systems Engineer with Cisco. He has 10 years of experience with large enterprise customer networks and brings a realistic view of the current state of network and host security.
